Seasonal Canine Illness survey

The Animal Health Trust are asking for dog owners who have walked their dogs in one of the recognised high-risk areas for the potentially serious condition, Seasonal Canine Illness.

They are looking for information from owners whose dogs have NOT shown any signs of the illness as well as those whose dogs have fallen ill.

As recent visitors to Sandringham and fairly frequent visitors to Thetford we have completed the questionnaire on the Animal Health Trust website, even though we thankfully have never had any problems in any of our dogs.

In order to properly inform the scientific research both types of owners need to respond to the Animal Health Trusts appeal.

Having just completed the questionnaire I can reassure you that it isn't complicated.

The information they need includes:

  • your dogs age, breed, general health
  • your dogs feeding and exercise regime
  • your dogs worming/flea control status (i.e. when last treated and what with)
  • which of the high risk areas you were last in and when
  • whether your dog fell ill or not

So please if you have recently walked your dog in woodland at one of the following locations:

  • Sandringham Estate
  • Thetford Forest
  • Sherwood Forest
  • Clumber Park
  • Rendlesham Forest
please take a few minutes of your time to complete the online questionnaire here at the Animal Health Trust website.
